Document Summary

Discuss some of the advantages and disadvantages that self-driving cars could bring to society: with the internet of things expanding to encompass vehicles, cybersecurity is becoming more important than ever. From the standpoint of cybersecurity, discuss some of the potential dangers of self-driving cars being connected to one another. Will these risks impact the viability of the self-driving car as a safe mode of transportation: discuss the legal and ethical risks that could be associated with driverless vehicles. Think we should prepare the roads before introducing self driving cars, opposed to releasing them into the ** dangerous traffic conditions and hoping for the best. Idealistically, self-driving cars are a phenomenal idea, taking the human error out of driving. Realistically, however, driving is an intricate task with infinite variability that requires extensive assessment and decision making, rendering self-driving cars highly impractical in an open system. I believe the challenges faced with self-driving cars will go beyond a programmable ability to drive.
