People did organize themselves in larger groups before food producion though. The foundaion for these groups was a common belief system. We see a lot of people in one place (8000 people at atalh y k) People that are more complex are not beter or worse than people who don"t have complexity. It is just a term that encompasses features that emerge from a group of people that are only produced by muliple people (think of when we did the wave in class. We can only do that because we have a lot of people; it doesn"t work with one person) People start to specialise and straify in certain jobs. They make food to support the elite, and other people who specialize in work that isn"t farming: farmers goods are given to the state as tax and the state redistributes it. In modern day we see urban as ciies and towns, and cut it of at farm land.
