The systematic study of social behaviour in human society . The scope of society expands as far out as the relevance of your social relationships. Including those you encounter on the street, at work, gov"t, etc. Face to face interactions, individual interactions (micro sociology) Sociological imagination connects to experiences such as why does he not have a job and having that judgement then connecting it to asking what the employment rate is. (rational reasoning) Europe went through dramatic change yet to be seen at such a high scale again. (rail away, photography, electricity, urbanization, telephones) With this came large cities, fear of illness, afraid of possible consequences of not being able to properly manage. Childhood was immensely different, put to work at young ages vs. now where children are remaining children. Threat of revolution was an immense problem. (french revolution made countries, cities, etc to be afraid. ) Society could be understood with the use of reason and scientific study.
