Gender roles evident in work and in how we react to others. Boys must be masculine, active, tough, daring and dominant. Girls must be feminine, soft, emotional, sweet and submissive. An important element in traditional views of proper masculine and feminine behavior is the fear of homosexuality. Homophobia: a fear of and prejudice against homosexuality.
