Have 30 page paper due, doing one page everyday will not lead to passing grade. Subgoal analysis (another heuristic) formulating subgoals, or intermediate steps toward a solution. The solution requires planning (hypothesis formation), checking, and revising hypotheses. Heuristics not only into problem-solving strategies but also into a wide range of decisions and judgements. Heuristics can contribute to errors in judgement.
