Zeina abirached: response to social and cultural amnesia. It allows us to have a sense of identity in tradition and pride. Question: what is the imperative to remember the past? (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) acts as guidance for decision making to see what others have done before. Also, we can predict future events or how things will play out since history does repeat itself. We also owe it to those in past to remember who they were and keep their cultures alive in our minds. Why does she use this medium to memorialize the past: tapestry- hereditary item from her grandparents. Through the tapestry the foyer becomes home: life is so abnormal- state of war becomes the state of ordinary. Happy story even though its world (why???????)
