Document Summary

When a reaction has 0 order with respect to a than it should be plotted on a graph by using (a) vs time. This would create a linear graph with the slope = -k, the y-intercept = (a) and the units will be m x s^-1. The 0 order half life on the other hand is calculated with the formula t / = (a) /2k. Zero order half life follows very similar patterns as the first order. It"s important to remember that with zero order reactions, half lives are dependant on the concentration, which means they are not always equal. Ex:100 50, 50 25, 25 12. 5etc. therefore the half lives are not equal also note that with a zero order reaction the half lives decreases. Second order integrated rate laws represents the y axis on the graph, it is the concentration over time and has a unit of m^-1.
