Many division in canadian society, it is what makes up canadian society. The main concept that sociologists use to study the main divsions in society is stratification. A system in which a society rank orders categories of people in a hierarchy. To say that a society is stratified it is to that it is divided into a hierarchy. In order to study society, you need to look at the stratification within the society you are looking at. Look to see how people get ranked (see how the society is socially organized) When you have these divisions, you have a system in which some people get more than others get (some higher and some lower) Social stratification is intertwined with the concept of social inequality. Introduction to the concept of social inequality" (as intertwined with stratification) Used to describe how certain attributes that are deemed to be valuable are unevenly distributed across social groups.
