If we lean on language hard enough, we might be struck by how thin it is how the names and words we use are not always commensurate with the beings and things themselves. We are more than our names, just as other creatures are more than the words and associations we surround them with. On the other side of language, to mckay, lies a kind of wilderness . Push on language hard enough and it starts to dissolve. It is often during such momentary breakdowns that we sense the enormous, unnameable wilderness beyond it a wilderness we both long for and fear .
