Document Summary

With remediation you want to test species with same factors they will be exposed to out in nature. More than 10% mortality in the control test, the test will be considered invalid. Initially a scanning test will be done to narrow down the parameters that will be used. A refining test will be done next to find the accurate responses at specific doses. The results will be placed on a dose response curve. (having mortality on the y-axis and dose on the x-axis) Different organisms of the same species will have different responses to contaminants. So we want to find the average response of the organisms = ld 50. Ld50: lethal dose 50: where the average individual will die. Lc50: lethal concentration: environmental concentration causing 50% mortality of test organism. Probit analysis: probability unit: binomial response (either organism is dead or alive), only two responses, graphs are online dealing with the standard deviations of mortality.
