Culture: shared symbol and their definitions (eg. ring on third finger= person married) (big mac= particular type of hamburger) World making takes place by naming, categorizing , separating and reuniting and building groups. Refer to production, people want to produce with all these resources in hands of first nations. Determinism- refers to degree which a person"s behaviours, attitudes and other personal characteristics are determined or caused by a specific factor. (eg. biology or society, nature or nurture?) Socialization- lifelong social experience by which individuals develop their human potential, sense of self (personality) , and learn culture (society). Personality: a person"s fairly consistent patterns of thinking, feeling and acting. Nature (genes): born and heredity plays a part in body shape, intelligence, personality and characteristics. (born with) Nurture (culture): current value and behaviours so different from grandparents that learning must be essential. Repression: any society coerce people to look beyond themselves (hold your horses).
