Our self perspective affects how we relate to others. If we lack self-esteem, our relationships may suffer. Most holy bond of society enhances feelings of warmth, trust, love and affection between two people qualities of good friends: honesty, acceptance, dependability, empathy, and loyalty there when needed. Dating spending time with others, practicing communication skills, seeing if romantic interest develops. Most of us end up with partners much like ourselves . Warmth and kindness, desirable personality, something specific about them, reciprocal liking. Men often rate youth and attractiveness more importantly than women do. Women may value older mates, with good financial prospects who are dependable and hard- working. Intimacy: open trust, sharing of close confidential thoughts/feelings. Relationships often start with passionate love and evolve into companionate love. A willingness to tolerate flaws (realistic expectations) The ability to communicate effectively and a willingness to change in response to each other (mutual respect) A match in religious beliefs- shared values.
