The belief that acquired characteristics physical traits that individual pick up will be passed onto their offspring: it is not orthogenesis, belief that evolution moves in a particular straight line due to some driving force. Evolution slows down, speeds up and even stops to change directions: philosophical stances and evolution, theistic evolution. Entails the acception of evolution combined with the belief that divine creator is somehow involved: atheistic evolution. Only evolution , no divine creator: scientific creationism. That things are made the way they are and that there is no simpler state or intermediate form. Two types: prokaryotes , the first kind of life. Most of them are bacteria: eukaryotes came later, they have nucleus, which allows more structural complexity, chromosomes. Humans have 23, gorillas, chimps etc has 24. Sections of the dna that act as a unit, and proteins is called coding. Each pair contains purine base, composed of adenine or guanine.
