Usually conducted in steps: first) descriptive analysis of individual variables is conducted, then) inferential statistics are used to analyse associations between variables. Descriptive statistics: ways of organizing, describing, & presenting quantitative (numerical) data in manner that is concise, manageable, & understandable. Inferential statistics: statistical procedures that examine associations between varibales.
