The purpose of social work, to me, is to advocate and support marginalized or vulnerable people in the community. What is the difference between: equality is making sure that everyone is given the same thing. This equality and equity only works if everyone is starting at the same place. Example: everyone is given a free pair of boots: equity is making sure that everyone gets access to the same opportunities. Example: everyone is give a free pair of boots that fit properly.
