Document Summary

As we got further from the equator, there was an abundance of food. No surplus = domestication of animals and plants = surplus (most important part of human development) Population grew from 4 mill 100 mill. During wii, the relationship between us and nature changed. Fordism: mass production and consumption: used this technique in the production of food, after wii, lots of poverty and lack of food. Most farming was small, then we started using tractors, pesticides, fertilizer etc. in order to get a mass production of food. Consumerism: if food is cheap, then people will have money for other things in order for the economy to grow. Mechanization: chemical and biological manipulations minimized risks in agriculture: this is where we played nature and the natural way we grow food, the bugs that eat our food etc. Before wii, the food chain was very simple. Mostly everything would happen on the farm.
