It signifies that race is never static or the same. Hall says classification becomes a system of power. Examining the physical differences we are born with means. Systems of classification become the objects of the disposition of power. Coming together difference or categorization of power. Predicting behaviours based on gender and other classification. Classification way of maintaining order in the system. One group of race are more positively powered than another. Every culture has a classification used to stabilize a culture. Function as a common sense code in society. Model is how a language works than of how our biology and physiologies work. Skin colour is a signifier which has a meaning in culture. Constantly being re-signified to mean something different in different cultures. It is never fixed, it is always a certain slide of meaning, always something about race left unsaid. Race is simply a signifier,that it is not fixed in its inner nature.
