Sociology is the study of social life including all forms of interactions and relationships (text p. 2: macro (society-wide/institutional, micro (between individuals/meaning making, tend to be connected to one another. We use sociological concepts, theories and research methods to explore and interpret sport: sociologists tend to use surveys, interviews, field work but not experiments, they prefer to examine things live than having a controlled group and experimenting. What ways of thinking/feeling/acting do you have that come from sport, and do you struggle with any of these: sport is a culture in which males crying is more socially accepted. Thinking, feeling and behaviour are also of interest to sport psychologists . But sociologists are interested not the individual, internal or unique: they are interest when they see a social pattern with feeling or behaviour, they are interested in these things when they occur on a large scale.
