Reasoning is a way of telling us (cid:498)what follows what(cid:499). The ability to reason well is a critical thinking skill that is crucial in science, something else. If something happens, what result will it have? mathematics, law, forecasting, diagnosing, and just about every other context. Logic is a branch of philosophy that explicitly states. Premises are facts we use in reasoning. Premises and facts must be correct to rules leading to valid conclusions. A conclusion is valid when it (cid:498)follows(cid:499). use valid reasoning. The logical task means working through premises to uncover the truth. Within logic and reasoning they like to talk about truth because you can have something that is true within logical thinking. If we alter our premises, or our rules of logic, we say we are failing to accept the logical task. Deductive reasoning, we start with overarching theory explaining something about the world. From that we come up with a hypothesis.
