Prosocial - altruistic, helpful behaviour, doing something to benefit someone else. Asocial - not doing anything with anybody, not engaged in social behaviour. Antisocial - doing something that is unhelpful to another person. (aggressive, negligent) All about making you aware of the social factors influencing your behaviour. The scientific study of how individuals think, feel, and behave in a social context (in textbook). It is scientific, which means that; (a) it takes a systematic approach to addressing relevant questions; and (b) it is based on theories to help explain social psychological phenomenon and to drive the research. Two groups of 6 people placed into small rooms. Lights on -> more cordial, superficial, polite behaviour. Lights off -> more intimate, real behaviour. De-individuation - phillips inbarda - in the dark, you lose your sense of identity. You would engage in behaviour that you wouldn"t normally engage in when de-individuated. We have a positive association with ourselves.
