Problem with projector was that when the film went through the projector, it wasn"t locked in so the film would jerk back and forth. That problem was solved by william dickson: william dickson: worked for thomas edison. Dickson came up with the idea of holes on the side (just look at old film rolls) of the old film rolls. There was a box created (back drop, a light bulb, etc) where you can see a small image.
