A bet was created: when a horse is running is there a point when all four feet of the horse are off the ground. Stanford went to muybridge to try to prove this point. Muybridge set up a line of cameras and when a horse began to run each camera would snap a picture this gave the illusion of a moving image. It was discovered that there is a point when a horse is running that all four feet are off the ground: jule marey (1882) Created the first camera to present moving image.
