Week 12: our film industry is a major industry. Gives out a lot of money for various film projects. Quebec also gives a large amount of money to film makers (one additional source of income): quebec gives the most amount of money (perhaps even more than telefilm. Because they care a lot about their culture: nationalism. This refers to the sense of identity a group of people have (based on language, culture, history etc ). Believe they are different from the rest of canada (history, culture and language are all different). More interested in their own experiences: the french were the first europeans in canada (in the early 1600s). They brought with them the catholic church (religion), political ideologies, culture etc . English did not treat them badly (were allowed to keep many of their things). Politics and economy were then controlled by the english: throughout the years, you have what is known as the two solitudes .
