Diff alignments w/ diff social roles: consistency. E. g. foul language in personal life vs. professionalism in business: clarity. Degree to which you have a clear, confidently defined, stable self- concept. Clearly + confidently described, internally consistent, stable across time. Selves similar to each other + compatible w/ personal traits (consistency) Evaluating ourselves through self-esteem, self-efficacy, and locus of control. Defining ourselves in terms of group membership. More likely to perceive info consistent w/ our self-concept. We interact more w/ those who affirm/reflect our current self- concept. Belief in one"s ability, motivation, role perceptions, situation to complete task successfully. General belief about personal control over life events. Higher self-evaluation w/ internal locus of control.
