Personality is the relatively enduring or stable pattern of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that characterize a person, along with the psychological processes behind these characteristics. Great debate on where personality comes from -nature (born) or nurture (social influences, life experiences, etc. ) The mbti combines the four pairs of preferences into 16 distinct types and each of the types has its own strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your type and the type of significant others can be very helpful as you understand and manage relationships. Perception is the process of receiving information about and making sense of the world around us. Our perceptions of others are influenced by three categories of factors: ourselves, the other person, and the situation we find ourselves in. There are billions of stimuli in the environment, and one or more of our 5 senses detect them and organize into categories thus forming mental models.
