It"s overstated/an urban legend, but has an important lesson in media manipulation. Most expensive genre to produce, but most prestigious. Holy trinity (3 genres): cops, lawyers, doctors. Issue flicks, women in jeopardy, disease of the week, after school specials, holiday movies. Teaser, acts 1-4, tag; commercial breaks in between each: info 2) complication 3) lowest point 4) race to climax. Even shows without commercials have the same act breaks. Mission of the week is used to uncover relationships between characters. Can have big stakes because characters can die. Recurring characters but episode contains a story with beginning, middle, end.
