Pantone universe: colour manufacturer, 1963, the founder realized they needed and innovative system to reach and communicate colours, specifically, for the graphic arts. How does this topic tie in with the history: linotype the company creates categories of certain types of fonts, created with moving type, we are looking at the first stages of graphic communications workflow. Basic workflow for print: customer and marketer think of solutions, graphic designer creates files, premedia operator makes the files ready for print, press operator prints the job, post press binds the job. Basic workflow for screen: customer and marketer think of solutions, graphic designer creates files, web/app developer create the code/design the user interface, site/app tested multi-platform compatibility, site/app is made public for the user.
