General trend opening of monetary system of money, travel system: globalization has displaced a lot of people. Its disruptive effect into organized crime as a defense mechanism. Believes a variety of ways these groups come in contact through common opportunity space. More people talk about networks, looser organization with no exact boss. Organized crime and weak states: alt-gov"t certain members of the pop aren"t getting what they need from the state (safety, security etc. ), organized crimes step in and gov"t and thrive: allow opportunities to control or gain of a weak state. Traditional crimes can be committed over the internet, as can new crimes (cybercrime): cybertheft: theft of copyright material or using technology to commit fraud and larceny, cybervandalism: disrupting, defacing, and destroying technology, cyberwar: is political, involving spying. Humza javed: cyberterrorism: undermining the social, economic, and political system of an enemy nation. Used to be committed in person, now has moved into the electronic sphere.
