Demography: study of populaion size and composiion. Total ferility rate: number of children that a female would have over the course of her reproducive life. Crude birth rate: number of births per 1000 people per year. Generaional replacement levels: ferility rate that must be maintained to replace a populaion in the absence of migraion. Crude death rate: number of deaths per 1000 people per year. Age-speciic death rate: number of deaths in a paricular age group in a given year. Infant mortality rate: number of deaths of children less than 1 year of age per 1000 live births in the same year. Life expectancy: average number of years an individual is expected to live. Populaion pyramid: visually represent the age and sex of a country"s populaion. Migraion: movement of people from one area to another: immigraion: movement of people into an area, emigraion: movement of people out of an area.
