Augusts comte, in 1838 he coined the name sociology. There were three ime periods, (revoluions) that propelled the discipline of sociology forward. First was the scieniic revoluion in 1550, it helped because science made a claim to truth based on evidence. Sociologists believe that the only way to bring about a change is to make the informaion known, bring it to the atenion of public.
