Child and youth slavery under the guise of education was already in place. 1873-1903 over orphan/poor 5000 children came to canada from the slums of britain. Made them work as servants in their canadian households. How their life unfolded depended on the household they were put in. Fit the ethos of creating a cheap supply and often free child and youth labour.
