Social strati cation: patterns of social inequality that exist because of how wealth, power, and prestige are distributed across society through generations. Cliches and sociological perspectives: money can"t buy happiness. Money can raise us out of poverty, and make us happier. Higher social class, higher physical and emotional health: inequality has always existed and always will. We will always have rich people and poor people there"s no escaping that. Rates of inequality vary even now- gap between rich and poor has grown in the last decade. Rates of child poverty have grown in the last decade. Race and ethnicity are a factor in this. Some rates of poverty improvements recently in canada- particularly in the elderly (single elderly income increased in 1980s) Canada has less social policy than some other countries (meaning certain groups of people are in poverty: poor people are lazy and don"t want to work.
