Adeimantus calls socrates out states that in book 3 socrates ends by briefly mentioning the guardian"s life (that their family comes to live with them and everyone basically is one big family) Socrates is avoiding certain discussions because : the city is so idealistic that it is impossible, it can be very hard to speak truth to people societies are resistant to truth as they are attached to tradition. Political institutions (aka sources of power) are shaped by power, money, and influence they are not shaped by truth. Socrates shows us how hard it can be to speak truth to power. It is very difficult for us to even conceive a truly just society because we are conditioned to the corrupt political system. Socrates offers 3 radical suggestions to reformat political society. The first suggestion there will be women guardians. There is no reason for why women shouldn"t be guardians and lead/be raised in the guardian lifestyle.
