Before socrates can start his city, he wants to convince them of a founding myth, to unite all the citizens and to have a common origin. He comes up with a myth that claims that all the citizens come from the city and emerge from the ground. He wants to convince them that they are brother and sisters in arm. He tells each citizen that each of them have a metal in their heart. A small group of the guardians (the rulers) have gold mixed in their soul. The auxiliaries are going to be mixed with silver. He configured this so that he can tell each person their divisions and put everyone in their correct job and place, as if it came from the gods. It makes people accept their role in societies hierarchy. Ensures and convinces people that this is where they are from and it belongs to them and they belong to it.
