Congregation in arnstadt criticized his music for being too dif cult, too many notes and too complex for them. 3) muhlhausen (1707 - 1708: worked as a church organist here. 4) weimar (1708 - 1717: position > court organist, member of chamber orchestra in court of duke wilhelm- ernst of weimar. Became the kapellmeister to princ leopold of anhlat- cothen. Kapellmeister > person who is in charge of music making.
