Document Summary
Fsh also stimulates the egg to grow; low levels of fsh could result in infertility to test ovarian reserve. Above normal levels of fsh means that her ovarian reserve is depleted or the eggs are crap. Lh - hypothalamus doesn"t work so never releases gonadotropin releasing hormone so fsh/lh are never released by the anterior pituitary. Small increase in lh is what causes ovulation. If too much of lh is produced ovulation will not occur. Progesterone: prepares uterus for implantation, low levels of progesterone could mean that the egg cannot implant into the wall. Low levels of lh would cause low levels of progesterone: briefly outline endometriosis and how it can cause infertility. Endometriosis: a disease in which some of this endometrial tissue has spread elsewhere, such as to the ovaries, or elsewhere in the abdominal cavity. [should be lining only the inside of the uterine cavity] is characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus.
