Today going over the location of urban centres: central place theory (check textbook about that though), urban systems, urban hierarchies, rank size distribution, primate cities, chapter 11 (pg 405-412) To start, consider the roles/functions of urban centres (what do they do): Urban centres are places which consume food and other goods and services, goods and services are consumed here. ^^^urban centres are also places of production of the goods and the services being consumed, production of the consumption. ^^^also places of distribution, goods and services are distributed to other urban centres i. e. pork facility, trucks on highway, railway, Cities act in a number of different roles and ways. *^*^*^*^ in so doing, urban centres are functionally connected to one another and connected to the surrounding areas, urban centres connected to other urban centres and rural areas * Many of the connections between urban centres are related to their absolute site and relative situation locations.
