And to represent politically (as in one member of a community standing in for all the others as a political representative) Language is one the most fundamental systems of representation: we often use the term discourse to identify linguistic system or regime of representation. Known fir literary and musical criticism but famous for his book orientalism which people credit to be one of the early instigators of the field of post-colonial studies. He looked at travel writing, religious writing, literature etc. to come up with this term. Orientalism creates an imaginary map of the world to know the position of the europeans in relatio(cid:374) to the (cid:862)orie(cid:374)t(cid:863)
