Africa: the coninent least responsible for greenhouse gas emissions, but the coninent most at risk of climate induced conlict. In general there has been a posiive trend towards reducion of armed conlict in africa, but climate change may change this. There is sill litle empirical proof for a directly causal link between climate change and violent conlict. Climate is the average weather over a long period in a speciic region. Weather changes day-to- day but climate should remain relaively constant. Vulnerability to climate change: certain areas and groups of people are at higher risk of facing adverse efects of climate change. Climate change is a threat muliplier it makes exising problems worse. Adaptaion policies and programs could help minimise negaive efects. Five important aspects of africa"s climate system likely to be afected by climate change: temperature, rainfall, extreme weather event, sea-level rises, non-linear (surprise) events.
