Lewis terman, who developed the idea of the intelligence quotient: wechsler test: deviation iq, problem with stanford-binet test was that mental age stagnates and some point, but the chronological age does not. Asian americans tend to score higher: they also tend to believe that their intelligence is fixed at a low level, in accordance with prevailing stereotypes. G determines performance in any content area: the specific abilities (sensory acuity, processing speed, etc. ) are the s factors of intelligence. This specific intelligence applies to limited content area: g predicts success throughout life. This is expected to increase with age (ex. Reasoning, verbal abilities, numerical abilities) (2) fluid intelligence: the capacity to solve new problems. Experiences and education have little impact on fluid intelligence, as it refers to the inherited ability tor reason and think.
