PHGY 209 Lecture Notes - Lecture 31: Phagolysosome, Antigen, Immune Tolerance

17 views3 pages

Document Summary

From the thymus and bone marrow cells make their way to the lymph node where they live in different locatiosn. Deep cortex and the medullary area in the medulla of the lymph node. This is favorable because when the dendritic cell goes to the lymph node, it sits between the b cell and the t cell area: sees both things at the same time. On the t cell is where adaptive response begins. The first is the t cell receptor holding the peptide (bit that is chopped up in the phagolysosome and stuck in the mhc class ii molecule) T cell interacting with the antigen alone is not enough: requires support from b7. Molecule with cd28: unless coreception occurs, b7 to cd28 nothing happens, and if it doesn"t happen, t cell becomes tolerant. Instead of immune reaction, it will never react to that antigen again. First cell in the adaptive response is t helper.
