Year of turmoil and conflict, political debates: defining return to normalcy . Bringing america back to normalcy was many campaigns for president. Harding: today"s lecture contains link to graphic images of violence. Still dyisenfrancement going on; some women cannot vote. Used wwi as argument for a cause: was fought during the mid 19th century. Result of tireless campaigning single issue approach : a lot of women supported wilson"s campaign and fought hard for suffrage. First proposed by feminist alliance in 1914. Very controversial among feminist activists: most people wanted constitutional amendment, others wanted protective labor regulations for women. A lot of people feel that the amendments would erase a lot of the progressive regulations establish. * the era never been acted in the us.
