Any behaviour that can potentially be observed by an individual other than the one performing the behaviour. Behaviour that can only be perceived by the person performing the behaviour: appetite and aversive stimuli, appetite stimulus. An event that an organism will seek out: aversive stimulus. Event that an organism will avoid: motivating operations, anything that affects the appetitiveness or aversiveness of an event, two types. Increases the appetitiveness or aversiveness of an event: ex. hungry so you seek out food. Decreases the appetitiveness or aversiveness of an event: ex. given morphine, then having a hammer slammed onto your hand.
