You have a union because you have a bad management. People look at the body to represent them because they are mad about something; for example, favouritism. Union role was crafted out of necessity as the result of people having enough. Politics and employers make it harder for people to unionize. Employers who are not unionized improve their contracts (benefits, compensation etc. ,) to avoid unions. Prior unions, you advocate on behalf of yourself. Unions don"t run the business; it"s management right to manage or mismanage the business. Union is there to ensure that business stands by its politics. After union, union leaders negotiate an agreement for all employees. Prior to the union, complaints are discussed with the boss, and after the union there are representatives to resolve the disagreements challenge managerial actions, and unjust actions . Prior to unions, managers are hired + appointed + union representatives are elected.
