See these in species that tend to mimic feature or attributes of other species to increase their chances of survival. Not just about denying, more about getting someone to believe something that is not the case. Usually deny that a certain act took place. Between 2 3 years of age, all children look back and peek as soon as they hear the door close when the experimenter leaves. The child is denying that they did something. Suggests the child may have learned this type of behaviour to avoid consequences. No difference between 3 4 year olds when it comes to helping the king. But there is an age difference when it comes to hindering the robber. The 3 year olds have to engage in an active deception. They have to tell them the object is somewhere where its not. They have a hard time doing this task of active deception.
