This begins with the physical changes and ends (according to society) when: rst menstruation and ejaculation, identity development begins to occur. Formal operational stage: the ability to reason abstractly, scienti cally and philosophically, the ability to do mental operations and identify individual differences. Continuation of theory of mind development and adolescent egocentrism: personal fable: overstating the uniqueness of their feelings, imaginary audience: heightened to social evaluation. Connected to the brain development in adolescence: frontal lobes consist of abstract thoughts and individual thinking, neural complexity continues, neural synchrony (coordination of the brain waves) continues. Sensitivity to rejection is greater in the teen years: this is liked to the prefrontal cortex development, there is an increase one focus on self rather than the context (the abstract thoughts return to the bigger picture) Thursday, january 14, 2016: identify templates , identity versus identity confusion, experiment with behaviour. Positive outcomes: that video games can enhance cognitive skills.
