Dynamic - consciousness changes throughout our lifetime, can change rapidly too. Self reflective - use our consciousness to think about consciousness, only humans and primates have this ability. Awareness - degree of monitoring of information from the environment and from one"s own thought. Conscious wakefulness - high awareness and high wakefulness. Lucid dreaming - high level of awareness but low level of wakefulness. Fully asleep but aware you are dreaming, can control your dreams. Vegetative state - not aware of environment but fully awake, (dementia) Blind sight - fully awake but has a specific loss of awareness. For example: completely awake and active but part of your brain is not aware.
