Document Summary

Natural killer cells nonspecific cellular antigen destruction. Becomes memory cells efficiency, rapid antibody response to familiar antigen response. Becomes plasma cells secretes antibody and immunoglobulin ig. Cd8 (cytotoxic t cells) specific cellular antigen destruction. Includes 3rd line of defense: antigen presenting cell. All cells, including dendritic cells presents mhc i to cd8 t cells cell death. B cells presents peptides using mhc ii to cd4 secretes ig (created and released by b cells) to eliminate extracellular bacteria/toxins. Macrophages mhc ii to cd4 activates to kill bacteria and parasites. Mhc set of cell surface proteins to recognize foreign material. Viral protein peptide fragments bind to mhc i in the er. Mhc ii is found in only macrophages and lymphocytes (b cells etc) When cd4 helper t cells are activated, they activate and become one of the two. Th1 kills macrophages, induces macrophage differentiation, activates macrophages, causes diapedesis. Macrophages break down a pathogen and present it to a cd4 (using mhc ii)
