In the second week we introduced the latch. The latch is a feedback circuit used to store a single state or value (in this case either a 0 or a 1). The state is often represented by the symbol q. Due to the construction of the latch the value of q and not q are both available internally. The design we focused on in class is the sr-latch. The when the control signal (cid:862)s(cid:863) is true it will set the value of q to be 1.
