These review notes are not intended to replace your own note taking. Writing your own notes in your own words is a valuable learning tool and is also often required at the workplace (where it is called documentation). In addition, writing notes often helps both the learning process and the duration that material stays in memory. Think of note taking as early exam preparation. In this review we will be looking at the basics of a processor. This will involve some of the operations (such as moving data and instructions into and out of the processor) as well as some of the signals used to operate hardware associated with the processor. These summary notes are to be used in conjunction with the material already on the website (specifically the simple cpu slides). I will not repeat the material here, so i will assume that you have read that material prior to using this review.
